Sky Museum Project
The overall goal of the “Sky Museum” project is to establish Sofia as an attractive tourist center.
This is achieved through the creation of a virtual “Sky Museum” with a digital map, presenting the many masterpieces of the roofs of Sofia buildings, their history and information about their creators. Within the framework of the project, a printed catalog and a video is created, presenting the capital in an attractive and innovative way, turning it into an attractive tourist center. The information campaign based on modern ICT also contributes to the wide popularization of the project activities.
The goal is in accordance with the goals and priorities of the Program and priority area 4, since the “Sky Museum” project sets itself the task of presenting the historical and cultural attractions of Sofia in an innovative way. In this way, the project contributes to the digital transformation of the tourism industry.
The “Sky Museum” project will present not particularly popular tourist sites, but no less significant in terms of history and culture, in an unfamiliar way for both the citizens of the capital and its guests.
The project aims:
- To present the historical and cultural sights of Sofia, which contribute to the formation of the image of the city, by presenting architectural masterpieces on the roofs of Sofia buildings, by creating both a virtual sky museum, presenting the many sculptures, clocks and figures that are found on the roofs of capital buildings, as well as a luxury catalog with a QR code to the platform and a video.
- To present detailed information about both the creators of the architectural masterpieces and themselves. In this way, it raises the awareness of both young people and all residents and guests of the capital about various cultural sites and places that played a key role in the formation of Bulgarian culture;
- To engage youth in cultural processes by involving volunteers in the activities;
- To assist in the development and popularization of the city, in particular little-known tourist attractions through the creation of a Sky Museum and the use of ICT.
